Why curiosity killed the cat? Was curiosity there in the first place?

Why do we like to open closed doors? Do we have the time to open closed doors?

Why do we like to cross our limits? Do we have courage to cross it?

Why are rules broken? This one is easy .. rules are meant to be broken na..

All questions are asked in different contexts but mean the same.

Along with the adage "curiosity killed the cat" there is another which says "curiosity on one hand killed the cat and on the other lead to inventions"

There is more curiosity in girls than in boys because more doors are closed for them than for boys. Yes, the world has changed and now both genders are given an equal platform/opportunities, but i don't believe it fully, theoretically it is true but not practically. Some limits are still there, will always be there and rightly so.
But i will not go into this now.

We as children are always told to do this and not do that and rules are to be followed, no matter what. This I believe strangles the creative quality or risk taking quality of a person. Some of us abide and live a life following a rulebook and hence may live peacefully but an unfulfilled life nonetheless. There is always a sigh at the end of the day, and that is so full of wishes like, "had i done this or that it would have been so different, wish i had tried it once, i wish i wasn't so scared in trying it, etc etc."
While some of us would have an indomitable spirit and would try to do things their own way or differently. These are mostly the people our history books are made of. Now here there is a success rate, not all is successful, i would say very few are, some meet with success rightaway, while some may only pave the way for the future and someone else may carry forward the work and get the reward. The gain is both of mental satisfaction and financial success. Some people like facing challenges and try to do it only because they are curious about it. These people may not do it for any benefit but only because they wouldn't let any stone unturned and have the satisfaction of trying it even if they failed. Such people are not afraid of failure and are quite adventurous in nature.
The risk of doing things differently are greater than just following everyone. When one starts off initially one has to face a lot of criticism and negative remarks from people, then comes the actual part of doing anything new or differently. A lot of people just drop out from the sheer lack of will power to go on and achieve what one set out to be ...
After being unsuccessful a person undergoes a mental stress and may or may not be able to go on in life as before. Although failures can be the pillars of success, it is not easy to deal with failure..Here it means that curiosity killed the cat..

On the other hand, if a person has a stronger will power and determination and most importantly faith in themselves, they stumble then get up and try again and again, till they have achieved their objective. They are innovators or leaders who pave the way for many of us to follow, hence the addition.. on the other hand leads to inventions.

We all like to do something new and unique in our hearts but so much rules right from the time we start walking, may have in more ways than one stopped the human race from advancing too fast too soon.

As I conclude there is one more aspect which has come to the fore and that is about our limits or rules which control our curious nature.
I think rules are good for everyone, but we need to recognise our own strength and see for ourselves how much of the rules should be applied and where it can be altered to suit our needs.
More than the curiosity sometimes i think the rules killed the cat before curiosity even had a chance to kill it ..

While grazing grass, the animals move deeper into the fields.
The grass looks so green and fresh on the other side.

While in a relationship, either couple move towards newer partners.
There comes a time in marriage or live-ins that both of them get fed up of each other.

After buying anything we soon find out something better has come in the market.
We soon loose value of what we have and want the next "IN" thing asap.

Then we tend to leave what we have and go on to other things, people, grass.

In this fast moving world, has the old adage lost its meaning? "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush!"

Why do we want more and more? Whay cant we be satisfied with what we have.

I have found that what is with me is not my pride but its surely the neighbours envy ( sorry copied from the onida ad)

When we come to know that the neighbours envy what we have then we are a bit more contented.

Is our happiness relative to the pain of our neighbours?

Why do we buy things which we dont need but only because others have it?

I guess the only good it does is to spur the growth of the economy, but at what cost ?

In the good olden days, one house had one car, one tv with one national channel, even one toilet.

No one cribbed then , there were more joint families then than now!
What is the world coming to ?
What will the outcome of this be?
What kind of life are we teaching the children to lead?

I have one answer which a friend kindly obliged me with, which is, that we have started evaluating ourselves based on what we have (consume) rather than what we do (produce). The more we spend the better we feel. In economics this nature is called, "Conspicuous consumption" which means spending lavishly on expensive things, not for self use but more for the display of wealth, to show our capability of consuming more!!!

Money Measures

Money measures and one can be measured by it.
This is a very usual and popular form for measurement.
Of course we buy goods which are measured by units of money.
What we have also started doing is measuring people with the amount of money that they have.
If one asks others how do you judge others, most would never accept the fact that it is the amount of bank balance a person has which is used to gauge a person. What a person has is generally what he is able to buy. We judge the possessions of people by knowing the market value of people.
Lets see how.
I remember once my mummy wore a nice pair of ruby earrings, which looked pretty expensive.
I congratulated her on her new possession without even once doubting the fact that it could be artificial and worth a few hundred only, untill she confessed it to me.
On the other hand if my maid or someone who is poor would have worn that pair of earring I would have never thought that it could be real even if it looked real in all sense of the word.
Strange but true!!
We try to also measure the possessions by the standards of people and thier capabilities to possess it.
Some people like to show off even if they dont have the capability to own certain things they borrow it, buy things which look close to real and try to imitate and copy the lifestyles of the rich and making an overall richer appearance than he really is.
There is so much need to be recognised and it is mostly with the help of show off of money wherein it is possible.
I have seen very very few people who live far below his real standards, most live far above thier standards. A growing evil, more so in these times.
In olden days people hid thier money and showed only the tip of the iceberg, (just like they hid thier wives) but now i see more and more people flaunting money more than necessary.
The impact this has on the have nots is not at all bothered on. There are huge buildings erected by the sides of slums and they live side by side, not even once contemplating that the cycles could turn down soon for either of them ...

What does money signify?
It signifies power

Why was money created?
It was created so that power could be measured.

Who has money?
The powerful have money.

What do they do with money?
They manipulate the world (sometimes even God).

Why do they do that?
Money is the only thing on which the laws of dimishing marginal utility doesnt apply, and hence the hunger for money never diminishes, and its like the taste of blood an animal has which makes it hunt for more and more and more ...
When a man is rich he can do anything he wants and is in full control of a lot of things. He can combat difficulties and crisis without any bottlenecks. Once he knows that he is invinscible, he becomes egoistic and tries to manipulate.

Can he be stopped?
The only way he stops is when money moves away from him and the basic nature of money is to keep moving, hence completing the balancing act of nature.

Money Matters!

If you ask somebody to do something, he would do it on condition that he is rewarded for his services. What better reward than money? Actually there is no better reward than money.
( Bringing a smile on someone else's lips can be a reward too but what the hell !! who cares for that smile! )
For money one can kill (just like a lover kills for his love).
Relations take a back seat where money is concerned.
If a mother has 2 sons then the one earning more, becomes the favourite in the family because he is the bread winner. It doesnt matter how he is earning as long as he brings in the moolah!!
What matters is Money !

Short story

There is a little story I must share, my papa told when I was a little girl.
There was a man who was very rich and whereever he went he was saluted regardless of the fact that he knew the person or not or if he was younger or older to others. People respected him and saluted him. The rich man never returned or acknowledged their salute, he just ignored them all. In the evening he went home and opened his safe and recalled people who saluted him and told the money kept there that all those people had offered respect to it, and closed the safe.
Its all about money...... honey.

Bet everyone has heard about this. Now most people say "Money is the root cause of all evil"
both statements quite contradictory in meaning. Everyone loves money but everyone would be ashamed to say so openly because money is considered evil.
To go deeper we must first understand the fundamentals of money.
Money wasnt there when the human race started, it came into being much later. I think it is one of the most sought after inventions by mankind
True, God made Man but Man made Money.
(here i would like to add that women are like money, apart from sharing the same number of letters they share some same propertes too, evil being one of them, also rhyming with honey which is usually addressed to women)
Now what i find interesting here is that i want to know is who made the most superior thing ?
Is Man more superior or Money more superior?
Man minus money is equal to a big zero.
Money minus Man is still money
We can also compare money to marriage and the adage "shaadi ka laddo jo khaye woh pachtaye aur jo a khaye woh bhi pachtaye"
If one doesnt have money one loses sleep for it and when one has money one loses sleep over it.
